Explore Erin Burkart’s Layered and Landscape-Inspired Art on Monroe Street for Gallery Night
This Fall 2025 Gallery Night, we’re excited to welcome Madison-based artist Erin Burkart of MountainHeart Studios to our west-side office at 2526 Monroe Street on Friday, November 7 from 5–9 p.m. Join us for an evening that brings together the energy of the neighborhood and the inviting textures of Erin’s art.
🎨 About Erin
Erin’s Instagram page (@mountainheartstudios) offers a vivid look at her creative journey—one rooted in natural landscapes, thoughtful textures, travel-inspired motifs, and mindful material choices. Her work often combines recycled paper, watercolor fragments, threads, and fabric to build layered compositions. These pieces evoke travel experiences (for instance, ice and mountain motifs), while also referencing her Midwest base in a quiet, reflective way. Erin engages with material in a tactile fashion — her art isn’t just about the image but the process: stitching, layering, collage, printmaking. The result feels meditative yet energized, intimate yet expansive.
🏡 What You’ll See on Gallery Night
At our Monroe Street office, Erin will present a curated collection of her work, including:
-
Mixed-media collages built from recycled paper, thread, and watercolor fragments, reflecting her interest in texture and materiality.
-
Textile art and prints that draw on the “mountain heart” motif—pieces where travel, landscape, and memory intersect.
-
Original paintings and photographic works that invite reflection on place, form, and transition.
Erin will be on-site for part of the evening to talk about her process, inspirations, and how she works with materials and meaning.
