Fall is here, and with it comes one of Madison’s most celebrated art events—the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art(MMoCA) Fall Gallery Night. This year, we’re excited to host Mark Viser, a talented watercolor and oil painter, at our Atwood Avenue office.
Join us on Friday, October 4th, from 5–9 PM, for an inspiring evening of art and community.
Meet Mark Viser: Finding Beauty in Overlooked Spaces
Mark Viser has been an artist all his life, but in 2015, he turned his focus to watercolor painting, eventually expanding his talents to include acrylics and oils. His work draws inspiration from the intersection of nature and urban life, blending lush greenery with architectural and industrial elements.
Mark’s paintings evoke a sense of nostalgia, capturing the beauty of everyday scenes—telephone wires, traffic cones, and other often-overlooked details that connect us to a specific time and place. His ability to find art in these “eyesores” reminds us of their quiet importance, especially as they fade from our landscapes.
This year, Mark will showcase a stunning collection of ink and watercolor on paper as well as oil on canvas.
