Off Broadway Drafthouse a Craft Beer Oasis Near Monona
I had the opportunity to sit down with the owners of the Off Broadway Drafthouse this week to discuss the history and the food. Joe and Rita Klinzing have owned the building since 1999. It has had many lifetimes in it’s existence and now as the Off Broadway Drafthouse it has matured into a great craft beer restaurant.
Joe and Rita give me the history of the building along with some of their favorite places to go as Monona residents. We touch on the 24 craft beers they have on tap, the fact that Rita has switched over from her Miller 64 to craft beers, Chef David Dorst’s awesome beer tasting menus as well as some of Joe and Rita’s favorites.
Stop In And Say, Hello…
If you are ever in the area I highly recommend you stop in and give it a try. They have numerous nightly specials, two large TV’s to enjoy a Packers or Badgers game and some unique finishes they found all while renovating the current space. Reclaimed wood, huge historical pictures and some awesome lighting fixtures welcome you into the space. Right off the Lake Loop Bikepath on Lake Monona, this is a wonderful spot to rest and have a pint. The outdoor patio is an awesome place to relax in the Summer and the friendly staff is on point.
