Halloween is just a short week and a half away and we’ve seen plenty of questions circulating, asking for alternative ideas instead of handing out candy to Trick-or-Treaters this year. Whether it’s for allergen reasons, or wanting to cut back on the sugar rush, many parents are given peace of mind if even one house on the block offers an alternative to the mounds of chocolate and sweets they are going to collect throughout the night. We’ve compiled a list of our top 5 favorite ideas to hand out to the little goblins and ghouls who knock on your door!
1. Halloween Bubbles
This doesn’t even need an explanation because…bubbles! Who doesn’t love bubbles? They make everyone happy.
2. Glow Sticks
Not only are glow sticks fun for children to play with and receive, they also can keep them safe and visible while they are out and about Trick-or Treating crossing dark streets.
3. Drink Packets
I’ve yet to see a child turn away from hot chocolate, or warm apple cider. These are a fun alternative for the children and their family to use after a chilly evening of Trick-or-Treating.
4. Slap Bracelets
These are making a comeback, I swear! And just as exciting as they were for us when we were young, they are just as exciting to kids now as well. I’m pretty sure I even saw them on a Christmas list for one of my nephews already.
5. Vampire Teeth
Fake vampire teeth pretty much encapsulate the essence of Halloween in your youth. Kids have fun with them, and they provide plenty of laughs and don’t leave them disappointed if they receive a pair of vampire teeth instead of candy.
What are some alternative ideas you’ve seen you love instead of passing out candy?
