Hey amazing friends!
It is again that time of year when we ask the community to help the Goodman Community Center meet the needs of over 3500 families in providing meals for families over the Thanksgiving Holiday through their Thanksgiving Basket Drive! We are kicking off this fundraiser by matching all donations up to $5000.
This has been a trying year and we know many people are struggling within our community. Between concerns about our political climate, health & safety of covid-19 and rising numbers as we go into the cold months, job loss and lack of new jobs available, it has been hard to keep a positive outlook and have faith that it gets better. We hope you and your people are staying safe and healthy in a very tough year.
This year has really emphasized the reasons we volunteer time and donate funds to different organizations. We work to lift up the people in our community who need a helping hand, a friendly smile or voice, or just to know that they are valued and cared for. The pandemic has hurt the entire world, but we cannot lose sight of our community members that can use a little help to meet their basic needs.
The matching funds will go to this event and any extra donations raised goes to stock the GCC’s Fritz food pantry into Winter to ensure families have the resources when the going gets tough. We would love to live in a country that did not need to fundraise for people to have food, but that day is not yet here, so we continue to give and to ask others to help build these resources for our community.
