The summer fun is over and now it’s time to get your home on the market. Just a few simple touches will make your home for sale more appealing to Buyers in their home search this fall. Follow these quick tips and you’ll be on your way to a smart sale!
Seasonal Storage. When staging a home in the fall it’s important to make sure that you’ve cleared out the clutter of summer fun: any boats or jet skis are stored off site, if you have a pool you’ve either closed it for winter or kept it free of leaves and debris, and the summer lawn furniture is tucked away.
Clean the Gutters. Gutters also go to the top of a buyer’s mind once they can see the leaves start to fall so make sure yours are cleaned out. Another nice touch is to bring in a few “homey” touches the cooler weather encourages such as a seasonal wreath.
Fresh Paint. No matter when decide to sell, a fresh coat of paint is a great way to revive your home’s interiors. For the fall, try painting your walls a rich shade of caramel or cream that’s neutral yet warm and inviting. Add a touch of color with accessories in deep reds and oranges.
Let There be Light! As the days get shorter adequate lighting is essential if you want to highlight your home’s best features. Let in as much natural light as possible by opening your blinds, and place plenty of lamps throughout your home for additional illumination.
Fluff the Furniture. Since the temps are dropping a warm and cozy atmosphere will encourage potential homebuyers to stick around during showings, giving them more time to admire your home. Accentuate your sofas and chairs with throw pillows and plush throws.
Plush Fabrics at Low Cost. Layering your bed with sumptuous, silky fabrics will further enhance your home’s comfort – and these luxurious details don’t have to break the bank. Discount stores offer plenty of inexpensive bedding options that look high-end. You can also display plush towels in the bathroom or cover your dining room table with a new tablecloth.
Autumn Scents. Nothing says fall like the pleasing aromas of apples and cinnamon. Before a showing of your home, burn a cinnamon-scented candle or simmer a pot of apple cider on the stove with a stick of cinnamon thrown in. If you opt for cider, leave it in a thermos with cups for buyers to enjoy.
