Atwood, situated on the upper east side of Madison bordering Lake Monona is one of Madison’s most unique and vibrant neighborhoods. A tree lined  historic area filled with pre-war flats and well kept single family homes, this is a front porch style neighborhood where neighbors hang out and are part of the community. Atwood also host two of Madison’s favorite festivals. Summerfest, and Summer-Winter Solstice celebrations at Olbrich Park on the waterfront. There are also many biking events through out the year because of the wonderful bike paths that surround and intersect the neighborhood. The Goodman Community Center plays a strong role in bringing the community together for regular events and thriving local businesses continue to pop up all along Atwood Avenue. In addition to One Barrel Brewing Company and Mermaid Cafe on one end of the neighborhood, Atwood has outstanding places to eat and drink like Dobhan, Monty’s Blue Plate Diner, Bunky’s Cafe, Stalzy’s Deli Lao Lang-Xiang, and The Harmony extending throughout the neighborhood.
