We love curating fun activities for you and your family, and as usual, there is plenty going on in Madison this weekend. Whether you want to prove your expertise in all things Harry Potter, move to the reggae sounds of Ziggy Marley, or spend a fun evening sipping wine all the while supporting our furry friends – there is something to do for everyone!
Harry Potter Trivia Night
Friday, 9/30, 5-7, MERIT, 225 North Mills Street, UW-Madison campus
Do you know the number of staircases at Hogwarts? The maximum speed of Harry’s Firebolt broomstick? Or are you possibly a skilled Polyjuice Potion concocter? (if so, we should talk – seriously!) This Friday you can put your knowledge to the test by joining other diehard fans in a Harry Potter Trivia Night! The event is free, and there will be snacks, prizes, costumes and plenty of witchcraft, of course! Registration required, but it’s easy to sign up online.
Ziggy Marley
Saturday, 10/1, 8 p.m., Barrymore Theater
Seven-time Grammy winner and son of the late King of Reggae is stirring it up at the Barrymore this Saturday! Get your boogie on and move to the energizing vibes of Bob Marley and Ziggy’s own solo album. Ziggy Marley, a singer-songwriter, activist, entrepreneur, and children’s book author has carried on his father’s legacy for decades – not just in the musical realm, but also in his commitment to humanitarian causes. Tickets are $42.50 or $55 for VIP early entry.
Bark & Wine
Saturday, 10/1, 7-10 p.m., Dane County Humane Society
Love animals + wine + a good cause? Then you’ll love Bark & Wine, an annual reception hosted by the Dane County Humane Society in celebration of our furry friends and those who make a difference in their lives.
Enjoy live jazz music, hors d’oeuvres (provided by Lilliana’s Restaurant) and a cash bar. In addition, there will be plenty of fun activities, such as auctions, a raffle, and the famous wine pull!
