Welcome to McFarland, WI; a beautiful and expanding community just south of Madison on the eastern shore of Lake Waubesa. Established in 1856 by William Hugh McFarland, the historic heritage in this growing town is cherished and preserved by the McFarland Historical Society While there, you must visit the McFarland House Cafe, which was the original home to several generations of the town’s founding family, preserved upstairs with the first floor refinished as a coffee shop. Here, community is strong and celebrated every September at the McFarland Family Festival. Another restaurant gem is the Green Lantern, (AKA the “Greenie”) where you can dine “All-American” with beautiful lake views, in a cozy setting.
