It’s the time of year for the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art Fall Gallery Night and we are so excited to feature Emma Larson at our Monroe Street office this year.
Here’s a little about Emma!
Emma Larson is a contemporary ceramicist, sculptor, and creator of Mudd Magic ceramics and currently finishing her senior year in Art Education at Edgewood College. Her work is distinguished by its meticulous attention to detail and innovative use of materials, influenced by the practices of Akiko Hirai, Florian Gadsby, and Eric Landon. Emma was recently featured in Edgewood College’s Spring Art Show, highlighting her unique approach to ceramics and sculpture. Through her art, she seeks to push the boundaries of traditional techniques while creating pieces that are both visually striking and thought-provoking. Beyond her studio work, Emma has spent the past two years bringing clay and pottery wheels to local communities, striving to make ceramics a more accessible art form. As she completes her academic journey, Emma continues to experiment with new forms and materials, contributing to the evolving dialogue in contemporary ceramics.
