Entertainment
The Madison Children’s Museum is a fun and colorful place for children and adults to learn while they play. Take the kids to visit one of the many exhibits for school trips, birthday parties, or weekend family fun. At night fall, the tables turn; Once a month MCM hosts Adult Swim, where the adults run the show!
The Dane County Farmer’s Market is a staple you must stop at in the Summer months. It is one of the largest produce-only Markets in the US produced by the vendors themselves. As you can predict, it’s the place to be Saturday Mornings.
The Overture Center For the Arts offers a wide variety of entertainment for the whole family. Saturday morning the little ones will love the story telling, juggling and other acts at the Kids in the Rotunda program. Saturday night the adults can enjoy Broadway, The Nutcracker, or a local Gallery.
Madison Museum of Contemporary Art (MMoCA) has children’s programs too. The Art Cart is widely known around Madison. Or bring you little Girl Scout here to earn her Fine Arts badge! For the adults, MMoCA offers Gallery Nights, Cinema showings, Art Fairs and more!
American Players Theatre (APT) is a great experience! Known as “The Theater in the Woods”, audiences enjoy classic performances of your favorite plays in, you guessed it, the woods. Bring a picnic basket before the show to enjoy the natural atmosphere, then hike up the hill for your show. Weather beware, you may get rained on, but the show must go on! This is a great adults’ night out.
