A Year in Review…Monona

Monona Market Stats 2016

With 2016 now in the books it is a great time to take a look at what happened in Monona, WI real estate sales.  Definitely a brisk year for homes sales as the median days on market was at 10, compared to 14 in 2015.  We also noticed that the volume of sales was actually lower in 2016 by almost 26%!  All of the data points towards 2017 being another year for the Seller in Monona.  With the absorption rate at only one month, (meaning that if there were no other properties listed it would only take a month for the current inventory to be sold), Seller’s have another year to reap the rewards of a strong market.

If we break down the single family home sales in Monona it looks like this;

  • 13% of the homes sales were above $500,000
  • 26% of the home sales were at $250,000-$300,000
  • 26% of the home sales were at $100,000-$200,000
  • Leaving 35% of the home sales in Monona at $200,000-$250,000

Median price in Monona in 2016 was at $233,000 which is up overall by 3% compared to the 2015 market.  When looking at the numbers it is clear to see that Monona, WI is a highly desirable place to live! With over 26 parks and many of them on the shores of Lake Monona, a new, off-leash dog park in the city, a large number of Community events planned by Monona Parks and Rec as well as numerous new eateries, this has become one of the areas best places to call home.
